About Us

Christian Heritage Month Foundation is a registered nonprofit organization in Canada, established in 2019. Under the leadership of the Foundation along with many Christian churches and their leaders, played a pivotal role in the official recognition of December- Christian Heritage Month. On November 20, 2019, the Brampton City Council voted unanimously to designate December as Christian Heritage Month annually. This landmark decision, first in Canada acknowledges the significant spiritual and cultural contributions of Christianity to our communities and to the nation. Building on this milestone, the Foundation also led efforts that resulted in the Peel District School Board trustees formally recognizing December as Christian Heritage Month in January 2020.

Christian Heritage Month is a collective effort made possible through the unity of churches across Brampton and other cities across Canada.

The celebration for Christian Heritage Month kicks off with a Flag Raising Ceremony at Brampton City Hall  usually on the first Sunday of every December, from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM. This event features participation from all churches and the Mayor and City Councillors.

Throughout the month of December, many cities and churches across the nation are encouraged to open their doors to residents. These events provide opportunities for connection, exploration, and celebration through music, acts of giving, and a variety of community-centered gatherings.
As of 2024, an inspiring 43 cities across Canada have formally recognized Christian Heritage Month, joining in this shared celebration of faith, legacy, and hope for the next generation.
